What is this Tool?

Video Trimmer is an easy-to-use online tool that allows you to cut and shorten video files directly in your web browser. Whether you want to share a specific highlight, remove boring sections, or reduce file size by trimming unwanted parts, this tool does it instantly.

Powered by FFmpeg via WebAssembly, it processes your video locally. This means you don't have to wait hours uploading large 4K videos to a server—it just works on your machine using your own CPU.

How to use

  1. Upload Video: Select an MP4, MOV, or WEBM file from your computer.
  2. Set Range: Drag the handles on the timeline or enter exact Start/End timestamps to select the portion you want to keep.
  3. Trim & Download: Click the 'Trim Video' button. The tool needs to load FFmpeg core (first time only), then it will rapidly process and download your new clip.

Why do you need it?

  • No Server Uploads: Perfect for private videos. Since we don't host the file, you maintain 100% control over your content.
  • Lossless Cutting: Uses FFmpeg's stream copy functionality where possible, meaning no re-encoding quality loss for compatible codecs.
  • Supports Large Files: Works efficiently even with large files, limited only by your browser capabilities.

FAQ

Q. Why is the first load slow?

The tool needs to download the FFmpeg engine (about 25MB) to your browser once. Subsequent uses will be instant.

Q. What formats are supported?

We primarily support MP4, MOV, AVI, and WEBM. If your browser can play it, we can usually trim it.

Q. Does it reduce video quality?

No. We use 'codec copy' mode, which cuts the video stream without re-compressing it. Your output quality remains identical to the source.
