Duplicate Word Detector

What is this Tool?

Duplicate Word Finder compares two blocks of text to identify shared vocabulary. It instantly highlights words that appear in both texts, making it easy to spot similarities, repetition, or potential plagiarism.

This tool is case-insensitive (e.g., "Apple" and "apple" are treated as the same word) and ignores punctuation, ensuring an accurate analysis of the core content.

How to use

  1. Input Text: Type or paste your first text into Sentence A and the second into Sentence B.
  2. Analyze: The tool works in real-time. As you type, shared words are automatically highlighted in yellow.
  3. Review List: Scroll down to see a summary tag cloud of all the unique words found in both texts.

Why do you need it?

  • For SEO Specialists: Check for keyword cannibalization by comparing two pages to ensure they aren't targeting identical terms.
  • For Students & Writers: Avoid unintentional plagiarism by comparing your draft against reference material to ensure you've sufficiently paraphrased.
  • For Developers: Quickly check differences or overlaps between two lists of configuration keys or variable names.

FAQ

Q. Does it count frequency?

Currently, it detects presence (whether a word exists in both), not frequency. We plan to add frequency counts in a future update.

Q. Are common words like 'the' or 'and' ignored?

No, we check every single word. However, because these 'stop words' are common, they will almost always be highlighted.

Q. Is data stored?

No. Your text never leaves your browser. You can safely paste confidential documents or drafts.
