Q. Why is CMYK conversion approximate?

CMYK is a subtractive color model for print (ink), while screens use RGB (light). Some bright screen colors cannot be physically printed, so we provide the closest printable match.

No. The image palette extraction happens entirely in your browser using JavaScript canvas. Your images are never sent to our servers.
